Egypt shows new find: tombs of pyramid builders
- Associated Press
Bones, believed to belong to the pyramid builders, are seen in a tomb near the site of the Pyramids, …
By KATARINA KRATOVAC
CAIRO – Egypt has displayed its latest archaeological discovery — tombs more than 4,000 years old said to belong to workers who built the Great Pyramids of Giza.
The modest nine-foot-deep shafts, uncovered last week, held a dozen skeletons of pyramid builders, perfectly preserved by dry desert sand along with jars that once contained beer and bread meant for the workers' afterlife.
Egypt's archaeology chief Zahi Hawass says they date to the 4th Dynasty (2575 B.C. to 2467 B.C.) when the pyramids were built.
Hawass showed off the find Monday, seeking to dispel the popular myth that pyramid builders were slaves. He says they came from poor families and were respected for their work. He says "no way would they have been buried so honorably if they were slaves."
This IMO is an example of people reading into things what they want to believe.
Does anyone besides me see why jumping to the conclusion the workers were ordinary laborers?
One specific problem with this hypotheses stands out, but before I cite the problem with their assertion, I'd like to see what others think.
Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

I am not sure if it matters who built them. It is possible that people who would have been considered slaves were really just poor, and people today have labeled them slaves. I think if they were buried this way, they would not have been considered slaves, but merely less fortunate.
May God Bless each of you!

I think it is all conclusions that people have come up with-because it's what they think and want others to believe as well. Nothing has been proven beyond doubt with it yet.

OK, I agree people draw the conclusions they want to draw, and ignore any evidence or question or discrepancies that contradict what they want to believe.
Here is what I notice:
1. There were supposed to be about 10,000 slaves/workers. Are there anywhere near 10,000 workers buried in front of the pyramid? 5,000? 1,000? 500? 100? 50? How many workers are estimated to be buried there?
2.
According to the Bible, not all the workers were slaves!!!!
Many were Egyptians. Egyptian workers were
not slaves
. Could it be that the Egyptian workers are in these graves?
So, how many of the workers were Egyptian and how many were Hebrew? Now, How many graves are in front of the pyramid? Does the grave count match the Egyptian workers numbers? OR Does the grave count match the count for Hebrew workers/slaves?
Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
